God wants to use
YOU as a bridge of HOPE to reach the
kid's for CHRIST
- be the bridge! Ninos Para Cristo or Kids For Christ is a joint ministry of Arapaho Road Baptist Church, Garland, TX and Iglesia Bautista Misionera de Jesus, Barahona, Dominican Republic. Arapaho Road Baptist Church mission teams have served in the Dominican Republic for over 10 years and each year our hearts have been touched by the beautiful faces of its children. For the last three years, we have taken a mission team to the town of Barahona in southwestern Dominican Republic to do a medical clinic, teach Bible studies, lead sports camps, host a couples banquet, repair homes, feed the firemen and businessmen, and pray with the people. Franklin Rodriguez and his wife, Benita, have been missionaries to the area around Barahona for 4 years, and we have been serving with Franklin for over 10 years. Now we are partnering with Franklin and his church to help meet the physical needs of some of the children we've met in Barahona. Many of their physical needs are basic - medicine, rice & beans, or an opportunity to go to school. One child at a time, Franklin is identifying a child's needs, and we are sending Franklin the money to purchase those items to improve the life of the child. Our first child to help is the child you see in the center photo above - Timotheo or "Timmy". Timmy and his brothers and cousins living in the same house have had head fungus. We sent funds to Franklin to purchase medicine to treat their head fungus. This money is also being used to evaluate him by a psychologist. Because of Timmy's history we felt that if he were evaluated by a psychologist, we might be more successful in helping him. Most of all we want Timmy NOT TO BE afraid of those that are sincerely trying to help him in the name of Jesus and TO BE afraid and run from those that try to hurt him. His friends, family and neighbors are now calling him by his new name, he's being treated for his head fungus, and now it is up to us to continue to help him with his physical needs, and pray that God will lead him out of his troubled past into a fulfilling life. A fund has been set up at Arapaho Road Baptist Church to be used exclusively for children like Timmy.
